Smyth Consulting, Inc. can provide services at every phase of the life cycle, from feasibility studies through design, testing, and implementation. To ensure efficiency of these efforts, we employ a "component building block" methodology. The "component building block" methodology allows us to move through each phase of an effort without extensive redundancy that so often accompanies other methodologies (even when utilizing RAD/JAD techniques). The benefits of this approach to our clients are several. First, we are able to accommodate nearly any internal methodology and documentation schema. Secondly, by reducing the volume of information produced at each phase to only that which is applicable, we receive greater participation and review by appropriate representatives. This significantly reduces the level of change requests and scope creep, and enhances the opportunity for inclusion of synergistic components. Finally, by building one phase upon the other with full change control features, as the project moves into the subsequent phases, much of the required data for creating the test cases, various operation and training manuals, and implementation considerations is readily available.
